Content Development & Management
  • Leads the copy development process through the various content creation and review phases of online projects, and ensures all online copy is strategically sound, brand-appropriate, search engine optimized and aligned with the company's overall creative approach. Knowledge of content management systems is often required.

  • Develops concepts and writes copy for a variety of advertising and marketing campaigns and other promotional materials, both internal and external. Assignments vary widely but may include advertisements, web copy, audio scripts, annual reports, executive bylines and speeches, direct mailers, catalogs, departmental handbooks, and sales scripts. Requires strong writing skills, creativity, attention to detail, marketing knowledge and the ability to write for various formats. A portfolio is typically required.

  • Edits copy to correct errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar and syntax. Polishes and rewrites copy as necessary to clarify meaning or conform to style guidelines and editorial policies. May also verify facts and write headlines or captions. Requires an eye for detail and expert knowledge of grammar and style. Often requires proficiency with traditional proofreaders' marks as well as the editing functions of Acrobat, Word or other software.

  • Responsible for designing and developing specifications and protocols for an organization's training materials. Communicates with appropriate internal groups and subject matter experts to ensure content is accurate and aligned with the overall goals of the organization. Duties include developing and writing training manuals, PowerPoint presentations, agendas, assessment tools and other educational materials. Also coordinates the distribution of these materials to internal and external staff. Requires strong writing, editing, proofreading and researching skills. Should possess project planning and storyboarding experience.

  • Responsible for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of a wide variety of training products. Also may be required to conduct needs assessments and participate in the creation of various learning solutions, including instructor-led training or self-paced computer courses. Requires strong writing, research and project-management skills. May need proficiency in Captivate, Dreamweaver or other Adobe Creative Suite applications, as well as various e-learning software.

  • Researches, writes and edits a range of clinical, scientific and regulatory documents. Works with research staff, clinical and regulatory team members to develop written interpretations of data and other information for a general readership. Other responsibilities may include developing content for scientific conferences and journals, assisting in the preparation of preclinical presentations of data, and providing medical writing training and guidance to research staff. Must maintain familiarity with current industry practices and regulatory requirements that affect medical writing.

  • Edits copy to ensure proper grammar, spelling and style. Requires an eye for detail and thorough knowledge of grammatical and stylistic concepts. Often requires proficiency with traditional proofreaders' marks as well as the editing functions of Acrobat, Word or other software.

  • Evaluates requests for proposals and determines the best way to meet their requirements. Develops clear, persuasive, competitive proposals to achieve sales. Works with internal experts to maintain an up-to-date, accurate understanding of complex concepts and products. May collaborate with other writers and editors. Writing, editing, verbal communication and presentation skills are essential. A bachelor's degree in English or another related field may be required.

  • Writes clear and compelling website content, including articles, product descriptions, online advertisements, promotional copy, e-newsletters, blogs and podcast scripts. Edits and repurposes existing print copy for the Web, and plans and crafts email marketing campaigns. Requires strong writing and editing skills. HTML and search engine optimization skills are a plus.
